Forum: opensource_movies Subject: Source of Classic Commercials?

Is there anyway (or a way I'm missing) to find out where these are coming from?

Classic Television Commercials

Is it the good folks at Prelinger? If it was them wouldn't they have the standard Mpeg2, Mpeg1, OT formats and not this Cinepac?
I'm just curious who's
assigning the "Public Domain" status on these. It's easy to say, but is it true?
I don't want to get in trouble.

Thanks.

I uploaded the videos; however, I did not want to take any credit for them. I did not produce the videos so there is no reason for me to take credit for there production. Any complaints about these videos can be addressed to www.simplymedia.com
That is the source I got the material from.
Also if you have any gripes about the four three stooges episodes I uploaded on to this site also address these issues to the website above.

The package claimed the material came from the public domain, so I believe they did. I have not seen them but i will take a closer look at them later to find out why there is so much controversy over this material.
